In a battle that lived up to the hype, the FBU Titans emerged victorious over the Boston University Terriers with a narrow 78–76 win on Friday night, sending shockwaves through the collegiate basketball landscape.

The packed Greenwood Arena witnessed a dramatic finish as FBU’s senior guard Malik Johnson hit a step-back jumper with just 2.8 seconds left on the clock, capping off a 24-point performance and sealing the win for the home team.

“This was personal,” said Johnson postgame. “BU is a tough team with a lot of pride, but tonight was about heart. We showed what FBU basketball is all about.”

The Titans rallied from a 10-point deficit late in the third quarter, fueled by a string of key defensive stops and sharp shooting from beyond the arc. Sophomore forward Devon Wells added 14 points, 8 rebounds, and a momentum-shifting block that brought the crowd to its feet.

Boston University’s top scorer, Jalen Price, poured in 27 points but missed a contested three-pointer at the buzzer as FBU’s defence clamped down in the game’s final moments.

With the win, FBU improves to 8–2 and adds a significant résumé-boosting victory heading into the second half of the season. Head coach Marcus Dunleavy praised his squad’s resilience: “We knew it was going to be a grind. I’m proud of how our guys responded—every possession mattered tonight.”

The Titans will next travel to American for another high-stakes matchup, but for now, FBU can savour a hard-fought triumph over a formidable opponent.
